I think they should both work fine, the hold fast FRS would probably a safer bet IMO, as they apparently just slip right through while it looks as though feetbelts need to be screwed on both sides of the pedal. But I could be wrong, just my 2 cents.

i agree. feetbelt will not work. you need holes on the front and back...

unless i am missing something, i cant see why the hold fasts wont work.

Bikes: Several, mostly not name brands.

Those pedals are designed to be used with toe clips and straps. Is there a reason why you don't want to use them as designed?

I thought FeetBelts had some shady stuff going on & were ripping people off. Or is that another company I'm thinking off?

That was it. I guess it's all sorted out now though.
Oh wait...we're supposed to disagree. I have no idea what you're talking about and think you're an idiot.

No, you're supposed to say: "Sorry for having an opinion",

then I say: "Is this your response every time someone disagrees with you?"

then we do this (I'm the Spartan):

followed by this (I'm Mr.T):

Do you know of any other type of pedal that would work better? that isn't a big bulky plastic bmx pedal

You know, I've always been at least a little bit intrigued by the Powergripzzzz/Holdfast type straps, but something leads me to believe that if I were to switch from my toeclip/laminated leather double strap collabo, the experience might be somewhat anti-climactic at best.

i tried powergrips for the same reason.

pros:
strong, really strong
they dont tear up good shoes
easy to get out of (much like clipless)

cons:
they were kinda sloppy

in the end i thought they were very nice for casual riding or commuting in your work shoes.

I really liked Power Grips too. The only reason I don't use them anymore is that my left foot - which got crushed in an auto accident 13 years ago - would get really numb while riding.

erichsia - that was really funny (of course, that's just my passive-aggressive way of expressing my opinion).

The thing about Powergripz is, at least from I assume, that their diagonal orientation can result in some odd, off-balanced pressure points against the foot. Can someone verify/deny this?

i never got mine tight enough to do this (probably why i found them sloppy)

Ding Ding! My first straps were/are Powergrips Straps. It's cool that you can get them really tight. I'm sorta anal about things and it took me weeks to get them evenly tight (hex bolt to adjust). I thought I was boss until I rode my friends MKS toe clips + cheap straps. I immediately felt the potential. Seems like the diagonal orientation of Powergrips gave you great 'hold-down' on one side of your foot and crap on the other side. My MKS clips + Wabi doubles are on the way!!!!!

Pressure points? Depends on how tight you like them. Really tight feels good but you get numbness, loosen it and you lose the numbness AND the super connected feeling.

I just made my own straps out of some roll of canvas tie strap or something. It's like 1+1/2 inches wide and more than strong enough. I split it down the middle to create to strips on the bottom half and left a sold strip on the top. Then just wove the two strips through the bottom of my pedal and sowed them to the top. Sowing wasn't a good solution since now they only fit 1 pair of shoes and it took me like 8 tries between the two pedals to get them right. I couldn't decide on a better free alternative though. If I had a camera handy I'd snap some pics.

IMO, just get clips and straps. Powergrips (which Feetbelts copied) were originally designed to get rid of the "locked-in" feel of clips/straps.... if you are riding FG, having good foot retention is very important... It seems the modern copies of powergrips are made specifically for tarck/trick riding.

Did anyone try out these straps from Sofus Francisco and have any experience with them?
