does this frame look ridiculous to anyone else? I like it but i think that's due to the novelty.

if by "different" you mean "fugly" then, yes.

Thanks for breaking the ice. I wasn't brave enough to say it before someone else threw it out there. :runs for the hills:

There's been other threads about this. One of them features a pic of my wife dancing with our cat. That bike sucks.

I can't figure out why are there two top tubes? It mystifies and amazes me. I can't stop looking at it and i don't know why. if it weren't for that extra top tube i think it would be better, but hey' i always wanted to put two top tube pads on a bike, finally i can

Why cause he brought up a topic thats been discussed at length?
or are you implying that alot of people are in love with the OS? cause theres alot of hate and it seems as far as anyone will go to defend it is "Well if you strip off all the components and rebuilt it with... then I guess it wouldn't look too bad"
I guess they sold quick when they were released though

That bike is ugo

well i didn't necessarily want to talk about the bike so much as just voice my opinion. i have since looked at the thread and skimmed it but my opinion hasn't really changed about the bike.... it is weird and as a result i think i like it. i would probably never own one, but i do like it.

That looks better because it's done right instead of having a cluster**** of mismatched parts.

The OS is not well liked here because it's not cliche enough. The boys club finds it too difficult to imagine it with deep V's, mismatched tires, risers and neon colored Oury grips.

That's not what I mean at all. I understand what the OS is *supposed* to be...it just misses the mark.

For me, the powdercoated rims really seal the deal. I am trying hard to picture it with simple silver box-section rims, and I think it would look fine. I am just having trouble reconciling 30s-40s grass track racing in England with red Deep-Vs. It just . . . I can't.

Agreed. It's not the frame I don't like, it's the complete bike's build. I could actually see myself buying, building, and riding the OS frame from BikeIsland.

Yeah, double tt bikes look sooooooo stooooopid:

OK so maybe the part spec on the Kilo OS isn't to your particular taste, but it could be a great platform to start on your retro ss/fg build. At a fraction of the price of ANT, Rivendell, Retrotec, etc.

Shout outs to the haterz. Even haterz need love... maybe especially them.

That's gorgeous. I guess it's either get rid of the red rims or get rid of the brown faux-Brooks. Or start from the frameset.

it's kinda cool. why not convert it to double barrel shotgun capability? you know, for commuting in the Northeast.

I really want to get the frameset and build it up as a cargo/weekend touring bike...

I wonder how much stronger/stiffer it is than a regular kilo.

There's nothing wrong with it aside from the 2 top tubes which make it look vintage; bikes in the early 19XX'S? had them (they were all singlespeed too) and typical bike makers stopped making them and didn't again..... I remember I saw bikes with 2 top tubes in some old movies....

I personally like the idea of 2 top tubes but I don't like it at all that the OS was based on the base kilo tt..... it should've been based on the kilo tt deluxe.
