black track nuts?
 

The nuts that go on the outside of the flanges. Anyone know where to get black ones? I doubt I can just go into a hardware shop because of the threads...

main problem with any paint on the nuts is that it will quickly chip away when you work on it with a wrench.

That is why you paint them after you tighten them. :crash:

Walk bike 45% of that time = 67.60 miles riding a year.

Chain wear should not be a problem.

go into a paint shop and ask, "how much to powder coat these black?"

you'll either get laughed at or have your nuts taken care of

Or you could dump some cash (I'm guessing at least $50 for 4 nuts) and have them black chrome plated.

Reminds me of my old Diamondback from my kid days. Chrome frame, anodized aqua blue brakes and axle nuts, blue tires. Damn that thing was hot.

You may be able to get away with roughing them up with sandpaper and spray painting them black.

i painted a set a few months ago and they have held up decently...of course there will be chipping but not enough to really notice.

If you use a loose wrench it'll just slightly mar the corner instead of the entire flat :D
