black track nuts?

The nuts that go on the outside of the flanges. Anyone know where to get black ones? I doubt I can just go into a hardware shop because of the threads...

Anyone know the answer'?

some paint and a paint brush?

main problem with any paint on the nuts is that it will quickly chip away when you work on it with a wrench.

That is why you paint them after you tighten them.

Distance to coffee shop .24 miles.
Distance to liquor store .13 miles.

365 days in a year, 203 with dry roads x .37 (x2 for round trip) miles a day = 150.22 miles a year.

Walk bike 45% of that time = 67.60 miles riding a year.

Chain wear should not be a problem.

go into a paint shop and ask, "how much to powder coat these black?"

you'll either get laughed at or have your nuts taken care of

Or you could dump some cash (I'm guessing at least $50 for 4 nuts) and have them black chrome plated.

Black Chrome Plating:
Black chrome is usually plated over bright nickel or matte nickel in the same manner as decorative chrome. Black chrome is not quite as hard or wear resistant as normal nickel/chrome and it is not lustrous. The finish may waxed or oiled to improve the final appearance. Black chrome offers high solar absorption and low emissivity useful in solar panel applications. It is also used for optical components, gun sights and components, lighting and plumbing fixtures and some automotive parts.

I sense sarcasm, but since this is the internets....

Why do you ride a bike again?

Yeah, I thought I remembered these from my BMX days. I have an image of a set of gold anodized nuts burned into my head from those old Dan's Comp catalogs . . .

Reminds me of my old Diamondback from my kid days. Chrome frame, anodized aqua blue brakes and axle nuts, blue tires. Damn that thing was hot.

well, that depends on if you're a fair weather rider or a hardcore rider.

You may be able to get away with roughing them up with sandpaper and spray painting them black.

If you use a loose wrench it'll just slightly mar the corner instead of the entire flat
