building first track bike
Sup guys, selling one of my roadies and building up a fixed, got a couple questions..
I think I'm going to go with the Leader 725tr frame, pretty good price, like the way it looks, but I'm open to any other suggestions if you guys got em
What I really want to know is what kind of wheels I should get, I'm diggin the velocity joints because they're not too expensive and I've heard a lot of good things about them. What I'm wondering is if I should get the aero/aerohead or the deep v. I don't plan on doing any tricks, really I just want something fast and quick that looks cool. What do you guys suggest?
I'll probably add on to this thread as this thing comes along, but if you guys could help me out with this stuff for now I would greatly appreciate it

you really can't go wrong (function wise, not fashion) with velocity deep v's or aeroheads. they are well built, strong, true. the only downside is going to be weight, which is why some will suggest they are not "fast" or "quick." but you are fast and quick, not your wheels.

If you want an aero frame, i'd go with the motobecane team track. As far as wheelsets go, you will not notice any difference in weight savings; that is depending on your terrain. On flat terrain with occasional rolling hills, aero > light weight.

alright thanks for some real feedback to those who gave it..
i've decided to go with the dolan pre cursa frameset and a navigator pista wheelset, any feedback on that?
also thinking of doing a sugino 75 crankset

Check out the mavic cxp 33s- they probably have them at bicycle wheel warehouse online. They're reasonably priced and bombproof. Of course, if you want to look like a metrosexual p*ssy poser, get rims with really pretty colors.

Yeah I found a couple places in NA that sell but it's actually cheaper to order it from the UK even with shipping, currently contemplating time vs money
