fixed newb question! running diff width tires? also: deep v widths?

hello!

to be fair,, i did try searching before posting (although very half assed admittedly)...

ignorant bike newb questions:

1) just curious about running different width tires. lets say, 700x28 and 700x25 or 26. is this a bad idea? do people do it? wider up front, or wider in the back? why, what are the benefits?

2) velocity deep v's.....is there a maximum width these can accept? ive heard up to 700x32, but wanted to hear other's opinions.

thanks in advance, and apoligies in advance if this is info i could have easily found out myself (give me a break i just woke up and im feelin' lazy lol)
