Anything else needed?

So im about to order my first fixie from BD, a Mercier Kilo TT Pro in pearl white. Any thoughts on my purchase? What other gear is needed? Thanks

Helmet
Lights
Floor pump
Portable pump
Patches
Tire levers
Multitool
Chain whip
Lockring tool

I think that's it :)

Ditch the portable pump and patches for better tires.

And locks(plural).

White belt.
Girl jeans.
A sweet 'Mess' bag.
A six pack of PBR tallboys.
Some obscure music by a band no one has ever heard of for your ipod.

I think that's about it. Welcome to the world of fixed gears.

you can get by without a chain whip or lockring tool, if you want to switch a cog, just tell your lbs to do it for like $4

portable pump may not be so necessary at the beginning

HELMET is a must

Get a lower gear ratio. Have a bike shop look it all over. Think about some better pedals, maybe better saddle. +1 on the other list. also pick up a spare tube and some chain lube if you have neither.

forgot the 15mm wrench to remove the wheels.

be prepared to true the wheels too, the cheaper wheels usually need some touching up from BD.

Luckily since a bunch of my friends have been riding the past couple months they have all the tools/pumps I need and im always at their apartment >__> But thanks for the advice.

On a side note, what online stores like BD sell parts. Im looking to change the rims on my rear tire to a different color probably a Velocity Deep Vs. Thanks

Hahahaha!

I take it that you have never owned tools before. Because if you have, you will know that people hate when you borrow a tool more than once.

Well in that case you'll need a sweet cycling cap and some rapha, a U-lock holster, or jeans with appropriately u-lock sized rear pocket, and some tattoos.

Don't forget the brooks saddle, arr0sp0k, messenger bag, and PBR tall boys.
