Removing logos from formula hubs...

I have a formula hubset on the way with two different logos. Anyone had any success removing these w/out scratching? They're likely lazer imprinted, so Goo Gone won't work, and I'm wary of removing the anodizing w/even fine steel wool. Any success stories?

Both sets of my Formulas are stamped Origin 8. I cared for about .05 seconds.

You won't notice it when you're riding your bike.

Having common sense may damage your fixed gear street cred.

If they are laser etched, it would not be worth the hassle and chance of ruining the hub. I would just leave them on there.
I guess they caught on that screen printed logos came off with some steel wool and WD40.

Bikes: Yes

I'd try nail polish remover. If that doesn't wipe it right off, I'd learn to like the logo.

Bikes: Several, mostly not name brands.

A Scotchbrite pad and some rubbing compound worked for me:

That's a litte different than a barely noticeable two-inch logo on a hub. Get over it.

Why bother ... Most of us can see you are using a formula from a mile away. Two facing triangle slots on flange. Dead give-away.

But then, Formula ain't so bad thing. It's perfect for usual riding where DA-hub (for instance) would be rather too good anyway. No one would hold you to that.

Bikes: Catrike 559 I own some others but they don't get ridden very much.

I haven't tried it with hubs but I've removed logos from other polished aluminum components with polishing compound and elbow grease.

wow, he just sent them to you???!!! That's a mighty nice guy to give you pair of free hubs! I doubt I'd call someone an arsehole for just sending something to me even if it had logos I didn't like.

I didn't even think someone would care about logos on a hub that disappear the minute you start riding?! I could understand graphics on a rim, but on a hub! Just leave them there; you'll forget about them when you're enjoying your bike!

Thats basically how long I care what my whole bike looks like when I get a new one. One foot on the pedals and the look is irrelevant.
