Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? thank you. I did have it on CL for a couple of months, no luck though. if I sell it, it'll probably be through a different venue. not a whole lot of C&V interest in the area and all the tourers already own LHTs and the like...haha.

FIFY

With your hatred of riding with **** attached to the bike.....

IMO you should be able to fit most of the gear in those two bags pictured, at least for an over nighter. Maybe a rear rack with a tent/sleeping bag lashed on top would help. Swift bag on the front looks plenty big enough for food and beer (gotta find a way to transport homebrews!), some extra clothes. I am getting excited already, but also saddened that it is december, and it will be many months before a camping trip is planned.

Oh, definitely some summer camping!

I got ride to Mt. Rainier again, it was a great trip. Also have my eye on some state parks I didn't get to check out this past summer.

There are so many places to ride to for weekend trips around here, it's astounding. Actually too many options as I can never decide where I want to go!

BTW, between jdgesus and me we probably have enough extra panniers you can use. Can maybe take the rack of my fixed gear for you to use as well. I have a stove, but can't help you with sleeping bag, tent, and such.

I need to tweak some stuff on it, but the new wheels for the DJer come first.

Early-80's Tommasini with Super and Nuovo Record mix of components.
The seatpost is stuck, it's about 2" too low. Enough to be annoying.

Oh man I was at it for a couple of weeks, spraying WD-40 and some kind of good spray from the LBS and I have only managed to get the seat post to twist with great force. Im thinking of clamping it in a vise and using the leverage of the frame to try and twist it out. I hate to damage the post but I'd rather raise it up.

Not much I can do with it, not about to strip it of it's lettering because of the carbon fiber downtube.
