That was a jk btw.
I hope I still know how to keep up with all of the new technology so well when I'm old, but I'm 21 and have a hard time with those touch screen phones so my future isn't looking good thus far. Also, make sure you post pictures of your steamroller once you get it. I love those bikes so much, I really want to own one eventually. Anyone want to buy a Schwinn conversion for like $600 so I can put it towards a steamroller? |

Will be 45 in no time and just got back from a shakedown ride... my old butt needs some leather under it but other than that it was an excellent and trouble free 30km... and my butt is still reasonably happy.

Had to change that saddle and now I need to match up the brakes with matching hoods and drilled levers. It never ends... :) http://ravingbikefiend.com/bikepics/cotd4.JPG |

No, you beat it, sonny. This thread is for real adults only. Why don't you go post in the kindergarten thread?

i bought beer for the first time 2 months ago and my knees hurt when i ride fixed too far. Although 7 years of pole vaulting will take a toll on the plant leg. I had to sell the fixie but hopefully will get another one not too far from now. I am a mtb kid for now though. This thread is pretty inspiring though, I would love to be riding any kind of bikes when I am as old as some of you cryptic ones. Keep it up!

Shouldn't you kids be in bed already ?
Figure most of the old farts are in bed already too except they have to get up more in the middle of the night. At least that's what I hear. |
This thread is gonna get closed soon. Chill.

I think I have some valid input for this thread. I'm a Steamroller owner and use fenders. I recommend Honjo's. I've used others and the Honjo's are the classiest and most stable. No noise. I'm currently running 32c tires. It all fits. I've had my left knee completely reconstructed twice. You stop counting arthroscopics after awhile because it's like going to the dentist - sure it sucks but you're back to normal soon enough. On that note, I strongly suggest any athletic person needing knee surgery to search out a sports surgeon. If you have a good college football team nearby go there and find out who does them. These men and women return strength and stability to areas for a living. It's all they do. Let them do their job. You can ride with clipless pedals but need to be a little careful. Pain is bad. You'll need to make micro adjustments to the cleats. You'll get there. Just be willing to stop, adjust, ride, stop, adjust, ride for a few rides. I always start new cleats a little loose and let my body tell me where the cleats should set. Not all loosy-goosy but not ratcheted down. I use Shimano's because you can adjust the tension on each pedal. I run the left a half turn lighter. Everyone is a little different. Again, play with it until it works for you. Oh yea, I'm old, too.
