Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

those of us who have been around a while have seen that before, it's reposted, but every year or so. it's right behind those artistic gymnastic cycling girls.

europe has a lot of cool sports that americans don't seem to give a **** about.

Of course. They're no going for speed as much as stability and control.

Hah, so true. The fixie I use for bike polo has a flip-flop hub running fixed-fixed with the polo side having a much larger cog.

Yep, it's not exactly a heavy or difficult piece of extra equipment to tote...

I ride the bike to the court, flip the rear wheel and swap chains. The master links make this a pretty simple process. It works for me.
