Road drops + hoods = most hand position
I lol'd when I see people with their hands next to the stem on track drops.

For the record, I'm glad that they used road drops with hoods and brakes. But riding the TOC on FG bikes is just stupid, in my humble opinion.
That's like running the Boston Marathon while hopping on one foot. I'm not sure what it proves.
It doesn't prove that they are superior (or even above-average) road cyclists. It just proves that they chose the wrong tools for the job...and they have some nice kits. Now, if they kicked butt at some Elite track races with their...you know...track bikes, that would be a different story. But, they didn't even try.

Or maybe they just like riding fixed and decided it would be a fun challenge, without setting out to prove a thing.

It's just that they are optimizing the bikes for the style of riding they want to do. (of course gears are really the next logical leap if you are doing such a tour).
I have Aero hoods on my Fuji track comp with just the front brake hooked up. It's for the hand positions. Although I would like to get some Carbon profile ergo drops as my setup is more like a classic road drop. I like the flat top all the way into the hoods of the modern style bars, more like bullhorns. Mine drop down, the Modelo levers are really well shaped and my hands fit around them great though.
Need to rewrap the bars I think, looks bad, but works fine!
