Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? if you follow the link "my DIY recover" I have a step by step account of my attempt . Happy to answer any questions.
I have seen recent posts where the mold was skipped. In my opinion it didn't get the shape the same.

Any clothing you wear is made at the expense of living creatures, do you think that cotton and hemp farmers aren't killing vermin who destroy their crops with pesticides and animal traps? Do you think the man made materials like nylon and spandex are made without sending toxins into the environments of animals, killing them off and ruining thier quality of life? If you think you go through life without contributing equally to the destruction of life on this planet then you live in a dream land.

Using animal Byproducts to make useful items is in fact MORE responsible then just letting those products go to waste. The Bushmen in africa, the Native Americans, the Aborigines of Austrailia and every other close to nature culture in human history has put animal biproducts to use since the dawn of time. GET OVER YOURSELVES or at least stop preaching to the rest of the world!
Um... I didn't see any vegetarians or vegans preaching.

and a brooks swift on my '80 Mclean:

and, last year I spotted this B-15 on a thrift store schwinn continental, bought the bike for ~$16, sold the saddle for $40, and the bike + cheapo saddle for $35!

Thats a very tired response, also your last point is moot to a vegan vegetarian as they (we) believe that killing the animal in the first place is wrong, and as for the first half of your argument, please don't assume were all dumb, every vegetarian/vegan I know is well aware of the harmful effects most everything humans do has on the world, but don't try and make us the bad guys for using cotton and spandex.
Now back to the thread, awesome saddles everyone.

2009 Brooks B17 Copper Special "Chopped" aka "Swallow-ized" Saddle. IMHO, it looks hot as hell with the Masterpiece seatpost. It's just another level of elitism over the Elite version. And just like LH Thomson himself says, "The Thomson Masterpiece Seatpost is not for everyone. We at Thomson wanted to create the best seatpost possible without regard to cost. Over double the fatigue life of any other production models we tested. Every component of the Thomson seatpost is 100 percent American made. This includes all fasteners and forgings."
