Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

fwiw i have dura ace 7710 hubs. i got the pair for $200 from here:

https://www.worldclasscycles.com/Trac...nents_cart.htm (scroll down to hubs)

don't be fooled by the janky website. they are in fact legit. if your friend is trying to keep costs down i'd go with miche hubs. they seem to have the best bang:buck ratio in the lower end price range ($120 for the pair from the same site). whatever you do, if you're going for a custom built wheelset, don't cheap out on some crappy formulas.

i think they do. at least when you go to the checkout page it gives you a place to put in a different country on the shipping address. but i'm sure you could email them and ask. i got the impression from my correspondence with them (i screwed up when placing my order) that it's just one guy running it. he was super helpful with me though.

Nothing wrong with building a wheelset around Formulas.

Every year, some design student reworks this tired old idea into their senior thesis. Strangely, nobody has ever actually built one of these. Funny how the real world tends to harsh the buzz.
