Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? He's going to glue the fork, handlebar, and saddle to the frame, slap on the wheels and start a new soapbox derby bike trend.

Bombin' hillz!

What do you guys think? Anybody ever tried this?

The business model is the same for most businesses that start out with little capital: make profits, re-invest profits, etc. It works equally for legal and illegal merchandise and services.

correct. but most legitamate businesses register, apply for tax exempt status if they are re-selling the product, find a wholesale supplier...etc.

Bikes: TBL Onyx Pro(ss converted), Pake SS (starting to look kinda pimped)

Too late and too small a scale. This opportunity went by over three/four years ago I figure for a one man operation to be ripping off CL users, it's only a matter of time til the collapse...considering big box are selling FG/SS.

You're better off picking up on the good marketing photos for the upsell to an ignorant market idea. That's what made America great!!

It costs me $25 to convert a geared road bike into a SS. I made alot of money on the bikes I converted and I sold them for alot less than anyones else in the Tampa/St. Pete area. If you know what you doing and sell a quality bike its easy to make money.

to your credit Jim, you are one hell of a mechanic. You can and have polished turds into gems. Your ads are clear and you actually take the time to engage your customers so they know what thy're doing when they buy a bike from you.

You're a rare breed my friend
