I got this new tape from a brand called F.U.B.A.R. to try it out and it actually feels kind of interesting. It's elastic and cushy, but has a slightly fuzzy, cloth-like outer texture. I think I'm going to like it.

Is that cloth tape? I have metallic silver (basic synthetic, not cloth) FUBAR tape on my road bike. The tape is pretty thin, but let's be honest here, I just bought it because I liked the silver.

Well the material itself stretches and is cushy like your average synthetic gel tape. It's the outer lining that feels kind of fleece-like.

i originally intended the tire for the front, but my fork can only take up to 28c tires. other 28c tires work on my fork, but not fyxations.

sucks because i would have two fyxations on my build for sure if the fork could take them. have even thought about buying another fork just for that reason, but thats a little extreme ;p
I'm a big fan of wrap around tread and grippy tires... $50 a tire hurts though... they should fit fine on my bike though. I just got a set of the panaracer ribmo we shall see how they go, i think fyxations are next.

Changed my mind again. I went with some hockey/bat wrap. I have 4 layers as it is very thin stuff. Sorry for the crap quality of the photo, lighting is bad in my apartment I guess!

^^ Also - it's my first wrap job. I think it turned out ok, though.

I recently had some Fizik tape and got rid of it about 2 weeks later for some Cinelli Gel Cork.. definitely the most comfortable tape I've ever used. Just watch pulling it tight, it feels like you could rip it easy. I guess most cork tape it like that though.

I didn't have the cushion/gel kit from fizik so I was running it bare, it was like running no tape at all. I imagine with the gel and rubbing off a bit of the "slickness" of the fresh fizik tape it would make for a nice setup.

For me it's hand size. My city risers have Oury grips and my Deda track drops have some thick white spongy MEC tape. I have XXL hands and little grips or thin tape doesn't cut it for me.

so after a few rides last week, I decided I'm actually not a fan of this tape. The cloth-like texture threw me off. I prefer the "stickiness" of synthetic tape better.

Took it off. Put the hot pink synthetic tape back on.

the only real reason i have gotten close to receiving why people do it (rather, dont do it....ie tape their bars) is looks.
I could see if you want to show off your colored bars, but w/e. I'm in search of some track bars....I'm using British randonneurs now. I ended up not liking the upward sweep as the bar exits the stem....

It's ****ing dreamy.
Are those bars the VO porteur bars?

I have only used grips on my dirtdrops for riding the trails and I liked the grip alot, but not the lack of cushioning. But since they are not really designed for that I guess I shouldn't complain. Actually have tennis racket tape on them now and really like it. Sticky and cheap. 6 rolls for $10.
