Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Well, consider yourself fortunate that they stopped, normally I get the car that pulls to the side of the road and an open passenger door, that's if traffic in some areas even allow me the gutter. With cycling and even driving, I let the other go first, that way I'm still alive at least for that transaction. A lot of times, drivers simply don't grab the situation and pass you, then when they do they slow down again and you catch up to them. That's when they've pulled back down towards the curb and given you no room to ride, so you stop several cars from the intersection or had to stop and get on the sidewalk. I just think they don't know any better, don't care or are just trying to make your ride that much more difficult for you. I stopped hating and getting mad, it's futile, the only thing that would bug me now is if they hit me with the car, and if I survive, even am capable, getting hit by a driver, there won't be enough good samaritans around to pull me off that driver, well maybe unless she's a hottie ?

If you're allowing cars to force you in the gutter, or somewhere else where there is no room to ride, you're doing it wrong.
