Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

had no clue

So i was totally clueless about how many people rode fixie's in my city. Once a month like 200 people on fixied gears ride the lake on ghorum st. Not to mention i just found out this morning they actually shut down the main road to this city for bikes. Its called ride the drive. Its a celibration to biking in the city. They say its gunna be a huge event. heres a link to it.

we actually have streets that cars are not allowed on. They are just for bikes and the bus route lol

Yeah, there are a lot of ratty conversions rattling around State Street. But most of the downtown riders here seem to be on ancient ten speeds or hybrids. I thought about checking out Ride the Drive, but I think I'm going to head out to Paoli for some nice road miles. Actually, my apartment is inside the Ride the Drive loop. Not sure if I can get out later to get groceries. Hmm . . .
