Brakes reaching the rim are the primary issue here if you convert your bike to 700C as the PX10 comes with 27 inch rims; you'll have to replace your brakes aswell. Otherwise you'll have to buy 27 inch where rim selection is limited in comparison...

Well what do you plan to do? Convert to 700C or stick with 27 inch? As not all shops are equal in terms of both.

Ideally, converting to 700c, but if that takes too much work to make it fit, i'm gonna stick with 27". Where are you from?

Well converting to 700C isn't a lot of work in my opinion although its another story if you want to keep things original especially for a PX10; I personally have a higher end peugeot (forgot which model) but it was a shame when I was taking off all the after market campy stuff because I was converting it. Let's just say you'll most likely be replacing higher end components with lower end replacements that were easier to find / exist.
I am located around Hayward; there's a lil' cluster of bike shops around here lol. Although I've been to the majority shops around the bay which have their own specialties.
In my opinion and experience the best place to start at with a vintage bike is the Missing Link Cooperative (not the retail outlet but their annex; although its apart of the co op aswell) in Berkeley. As in my opinion majority of bike shops these days focus and specialize on highend and tech 21st century bikes...

Yeah I figured.. What about buying parts online? I'm located in the San Jose area. If I were to convert to 700C, what modifications would i have to make?

Haha, I guess. To be honest, I'm not even positive that its a Px10. But regardless of the model, the conversion should be the same right?

Peugeot conversions are beautiful.
There could be this one little problem you might run into....MIGHT.
Most modern brakes use a recessed nut to secure the brake onto the fork and brake bridge and the hole on the fork MIGHT not be wide enough to fit a recessed nut. You might need to bring it to the shop to drill it out.

Then again, I'm sure you can get a brake use a bolt and have the appropriate reach...but it's a problem you might want to consider when purchasing a set of brakes.

alright, I'll probably be bringing it in to LBS to buy all the parts. Rather do it right the first time rather than making blind purchases online and finding that they won't fit. Any specific set of wheels I should look for at my LBS?

Wheelsets depend on how much you are willing to spend. Try to go to a fixed gear dedicated store, they will have a wider range of wheels to choose from.
Write down a couple of wheelsets that you like when you are going to the shop, then look online for info...or post questions here.

Rofl a PX10 at Iminusd... not that its a bad shop however if you've not been there yet; great selection aswell
In my opinion if you have the resources, silver or white (looks good with any PX10's color scheme) b43's laced to black DA or phil high flange on a PX10 will look dope as hell
