So I have a brand new Kilo Stripper (Raw) and have basically new everything to upgrade it. B43, Aerospoke, Brooks, All-City stuff, Ergo Bars, Gatorskins etc... Anyways, I just came across an opportunity to snag a EAI Bareknuckle or Godzilla at basically cost (I cook and I do trade outs w/my LBS for private parties/catering events) a good time is had by all.

So do I just mod the Kilo and be happy or do I sell it and p/u a EAI?

Still kicking the idea around but would welcome input/opinions.

Also, does anyone know if the Geo is the same for the Bareknuckle and Godzilla?

pretty sure a godzilla is just a bareknuckle with better tubes. i'm sure euroasia could give you geo to confirm that though.

and uh, if your question is which is the better bike, the eai takes the cake in every category.

but if your question is what should you do, i'm pretty sure that depends entirely on what you want the bike for. the godzilla can handle pretty much anything the kilo can, but it's also a lot more expensive and theftprone.

honestly your "upgrades" don't sound like they're all that awesome to me, but i'm sure they'd be equally cool and nice on either bike.

though the idea of a godzilla with all-city components kind of makes me cringe.

really? the Bareknuckle/Godzilla strike me as the ultimate mercenary frames. Doesn't matter what you throw on them, for the right price they'll be/do whatever you want them too.

definitely, but a nice frame like that should have nice components that aren't so 'flash meets function.'

all-city makes great parts... but i don't see them going on a bike that looks just as suited with a full campy record group.

Speaking from experience, the BK is a nice frame, but way overpriced today. Their really isn't much of a difference from a Kilo. Its perhaps a bit stiffer with somewhat more track-appropriate geometry, but the tubing isn't exactly high end. In the end, I don't think you are going to notice much of a difference.
The Godzilla looks nicer and maybe has better tubes, but for all practical purposes, its just a more expensive version of the same thing. You could do much better for that amount of money IMO.

under $700 and it will be in the form of a store credit from me catering so nothing out of pocket.

I ordered a (62cm.) Pearl White Godzilla.

Should be built up in a week or so. And as far as the All-City components go; I already had the crank and pedals ordered for the Kilo. Not failing to mention that I have no interest in winning a popularity contest with my bicycles' aesthetics. Additionally, it is my opinion that All-City (QBP) makes a totally decent/functional product. If I discover they are not to my standard or liking I will sell them and put on a DA or 75 set in silver w/Phil SS BB & some MKS pedals.

1. Bought one perfectly decent bike.
2. Bought nearly enough parts to build a second bike.
3. Are now considering buying a second (nearly third?) bike.

All to fulfill your goal of owning one good bike. What. The. Hell.

I assure everyone that I have no interest in selling my 'goal'; I just really enjoy the back and forth interaction between all of us here on the internetz. That said:

1. I enjoy buying, building, riding and selling bicycles. It is my hobby and I usually do it wisely without losing my ass.
2. I purchased the additional upgrades because that is half the fun for me. I am by no means a rich man but I am single, no kids, I have a decent job and I am fairly wise with my $. I also enjoy selling extras or giving them to friends. I also do not mind having an extra set of beater wheels.
3. I am not considering buying anything. I am about to have a shop credit for around 1K from me busting my ass on a day off and catering for 100ppl. solo. Additionally, I am just getting the frame and a few odds and ends and with the remainder I am finishing my gf's SS 29er (Salsa Dos Niner w/magic gear (32t./21t.).

yeah i mean, considering you can just sell the kilo as a complete after this, there's really no downside. i think you just wanted to brag about getting hooked up for a day's work and getting a toyo godzilla out of it.

hell yeah dude dump the kilo, sell some of your current components and cop the Godzilla. The Godzilla's overpriced but it's probably gonna be my next frame. Also, are you sure you want a 62? From what i hear the godzilla frames run big, but who knows maybe you're a giant of a man

I can't ever pin down why I like Bareknuckles soo much. Its seriously one of those "Ooooh pretty frame, what is that, oh a Bareknuckle" pretty much everytime I see one. And Broaklands, but anywho.

If you're getting that great of a deal, I say go for it. Sell/trade/swap whatever components/frames you don't want, and carry on...

to me it seems that aerospokes and b43s are mostly for aesthetics but i guess thats just me

I received the Bareknuckle/Godzilla Geo from the Rep @EAI and based on my height of 6'5" and 35" inseam I should be in good shape with the 62cm.

I will post some pics when built.

That sounds about right. I'm 6'1" and riding a 58cm. You'll enjoy the frame if its anything like the BK. Its stiff as hell and really wants to be hammered on.
