Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Seven cycles. IF. I know IF will do a custom for you, but it would be so damn pricey.

A true track frame or a fixed gear?

If the latter, talk to Matt Chester.

Thems the only two I can think of. I know there has to be a few others willing to do custom.

Bikes: Look 565, Trek 2120

Habanero does custom geometry Ti frames for $995 - fabricated in China, 8-10 weeks leadtime. I don't know if they can do a track bike but it is worth calling. Cheesy website but the frames are high quality and they have a good rep.

Bikes: giant tcr, s-works mtb, bianchi fixie

i think the sycip brothers could build you one in ti. also try the hellyer park velodrome site. they have links to a few builders. i would personally go for high end steel before i went for lowend ti. they'll have the same weight and the steel will last a lifetime.

airborne has a ti track frame for about $1599

Bikes: Moyer Cycles #1 - A fixie of course.

Mike DeSalvo builds Ti SS/track frames. He's a good guy to boot - one of my instructors at UBI.

AeroLite (https://www.aerolite.ca/) in Toronto, Canada, offers road, MTB, and custom ti frames. They're currently building me a custom fixed frame that I'll use ofr audaz/long-distance rides.

Same sort of deal (and similar prices) to Habanero, ie, you give them your specs, the frames are built in China. US$900 for a custom frame, 4-6 weeks lead time.

I had a good look at AeroLite frames in their warehouse last weekend, and was impressed by their quality. David Du, who runs AeroLite, seems a decent guy, and very professional.

Why Ti? I agree with miles305, go with a good quality steel frame. Get it fitted and pick some nice colors. That's what I'd do if I had the money. :-)

Please let us know what you decide.
