Hipsters Gather! I REQUIRE ADDITIONAL PYLONS!
Alright, well not really hipster-ish.
Since this is more about performance/enjoyability compared to aesthetics.
And since I'm not pro in knowledge like most of you..so..
I'm looking for a good deal on a fixie.
And I came along this
https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/bik/1829084878.html
I'm a little skeptical in the cost of the upgrades, as I would like a complete bike rundown, but w/e.
The parts stated seem to be appropriate in price, and the fact that it's this cheap due to this fellow's financial trouble it seems too good to be true.
So any uberass bike enthusiasts out there can help me out with this enigma, then please do.
And no, I don't want to be spammed with posts consisting of buying a Kilo TT..

Unless that's a $600 top tube pad (perhaps stuffed with shredded twenties?), I have a hard time believing the upgrade cost as well.
If you like it, it fits you, and it's well taken care of, the price seems about fair. What do you want to use it for?

I use bikes often to travel where I need to go as distance isn't much of an issue.
And since I'm considering a fixie, speed is well a factor to be considered.
Thanks for replying.

i'd say that kilo is worth more like 300. meh.
speed is dependent on rider, not bike. my friend is faster on his motobecane hybrid than when he borrowed my track bike. He's just faster on a mountain bike than a road style frame.

Shredded money is worthless the federal reserve bank gives that stuff away.....
It's not worth $500.... it's definitely not worth more than the price bikesdirect sells them as its used.
It still even has the ****ty stock kilo wheelset....
The CL poster was just typing up the stock stuff.....

Well if it's a rip-off, then w/e. I shall commence my never-ending search!
You fellows can suggest me some bikes.
Keep it in same price range as the "Mercier."
And if it's pretty, uber bonus!

i don't know what size you ride, but 50cm seems too small for someone 5'9" like the ad.
