Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Fixed BF Tikit...

Got a new fixed gear rig in my garage...a folding Bike Friday Tikit. Super fun bike to ride and no need to ever lock it...just fold and carry inside....

It's nice having no cables running to the back end on a folder...

The bike folds super fast and you can roll the folded bike one handed.

On a closer look, I'm not sure what I mean either. There's a lot going on underneath those handlebars.

I got the bike built custom with what Bike Friday calls "the heavy rider upgrade"..supposedly good for a guy 260lbs...I'm 160-170lbs...so the bike is quite stiff for a folder....I can get out of the saddle and pull on the bars while I hammer and it's solid.
