Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

chain-l. just try it.

this it the absolute bomb if you ride in inclement weather. the most tenacious stuff i have ever used. apply exactly as the instructions say. i reapply every 1k or so...not every other ride.

other than that, i use homebrew...3 parts solvent (mineral spirits), 1 part 75w90 gear oil. was a prolink believer for a long time, and this is pretty much the same.

I've used finish line on all my bikes. I like it. I have both their wet and dry lubes in my bike bag.

Thanks for the suggestions. Some of those products I've never used before. I'll take a look at them.

everyone has their preference. if its a wet lube you get. just wipe it down after every ride. and if it has been sitting for more than a couple of days it may collect dust, wipe before riding. thats the best advice i have ever gotten from a mechanic.
