Soma vs Miche hubs
Basically the same price between the two +/- a few bones. I've read mixed reviews about both but wondered if anything has changed in the last year or so (newest reviews being...2 or so yrs old for Miche that I could find).

Just go with Formula if you have mixed feelings...
|
Is Formula actually the brand? Nothing by Formula on Universal Cycles, which is who is building my wheels, is sold on the site that I'm aware of :fred:
|
Formula, IRO, Velocity, Harris, Origin8, all of them are the same. Not sure if Universal has them though.
Hmm, Universal don't have them. If you do end up getting Miche, make sure to get an Italian thread lockring, Campy, Phil, Miche's etc. |
You've been working on your "Vigorelli" since June...are you even working on that bike at all?

It's riding great but I don't like the deep V's I built its extremely heavy for this bike. So they're going on CL to help fund a better wheelset.

My velodrome wheels are built on the 32 hole Miche hubs, and I love them, They were easy to build, spin great, and hold up nicely on the track. That being said they have never seen any bad weather. I had a set of the soma hubs that cracked a cone(which isnt a deal breaker on hubs) but then I found out I would have to import the right sized cone from japan at a cost of $20, that was a deal breaker for me. I wouldnt get them again.

Do Miche hubs have a strange chainline? For some reason I have this crazy idea in my head. Can anyone prove or disprove this? Thanks bros!
|
Miche cranks need an odd length bottom bracket spindle to keep a standard chainline, that might be what you are thinking of. But the hubs are totally standard. They just need an italian lock ring, which comes with the hubs if you buy them new.
