Soma vs Miche hubs
Basically the same price between the two +/- a few bones. I've read mixed reviews about both but wondered if anything has changed in the last year or so (newest reviews being...2 or so yrs old for Miche that I could find).

Formula, IRO, Velocity, Harris, Origin8, all of them are the same. Not sure if Universal has them though.
Hmm, Universal don't have them.
If you do end up getting Miche, make sure to get an Italian thread lockring, Campy, Phil, Miche's etc.

My velodrome wheels are built on the 32 hole Miche hubs, and I love them, They were easy to build, spin great, and hold up nicely on the track. That being said they have never seen any bad weather. I had a set of the soma hubs that cracked a cone(which isnt a deal breaker on hubs) but then I found out I would have to import the right sized cone from japan at a cost of $20, that was a deal breaker for me. I wouldnt get them again.

Miche cranks need an odd length bottom bracket spindle to keep a standard chainline, that might be what you are thinking of. But the hubs are totally standard. They just need an italian lock ring, which comes with the hubs if you buy them new.
