Motorcyclists do. I'm not taking chances. I like my excellent hearing.

CrockerCock 08-09-10 01:13 AM

I don't listen to any music when I ride, but I can do a handstand longer than any of my friends and I spelled my name right on the SAT

I agree. Seeing, feeling, and hearing are vital to safe street riding.

Wow...a thread where I agree with both TT and carleton? I'd better get myself to a doctor.

This guy knows what he's doing.

NO. NO. NO. NO. NOOOO!

You aren't supposed to listen to music while you ride. You are supposed to SING when you ride.

Yepper, you're an Aggie.

NinetiesKid 08-09-10 06:53 AM

I once rode my bike to a Flaming Lips concert, then I got a 780 on the math portion of the GRE.

Also a friend of mine just a 176 on the LSAT.

rumrunn6 08-09-10 06:57 AM

day or nite; either one works for me ~ but what I prefer is mostly fast tempo with just an occasional easy tune here and there. I change my playlist once a week and I use it for cycling and running

patthepunk 08-09-10 07:32 AM

I think the name of the thread should be "what's your highschool SAT score?" now.

Do I get excused for solving a Schrodinger's Equation and on occasion being able to solve Black Scholes Equation? ... But you know that sorta stuff (including SAT shiat) won't help you from doing stupid stuff. I mean when I working on 120VAC line, I somehow managed to calmly grip at bare burning outlet copper contacts barehanded. I panicked and decided I must grab at it harder. Someone promptly slapped me out of my death grip. Shaken but not stirred ... for the rest of the day.

I've been an electrician for a few years now. 120V sucks, but 277V ef-ing hurts!

Only took the SAT in 7th grade, Got a 32 on my ACT though. Still don't listen to music while I ride.

dsh 08-09-10 11:12 AM

I took the SAT like five times, starting in 7th grade. The fifth time was just so I could try to beat my friend's score; I'd already finished all my college acceptance stuff. Also I don't listen to music while I bike.

The great thing about grabbing live wires with one hand is that it just shocks the crap out of your hand, not your whole body! I used to stick my fingers in lamp sockets when I was a kid. The 120hz buzz kinda feels cool once you stop being afraid of it...

Now, grab it with both hands, and you're in trouble.

Dr. Banzai 08-09-10 11:26 AM

There are no SAT tests in Canada. So we can ride with earbuds without retribution.

dsh 08-09-10 11:47 AM

Plus you guys have that communist healthcare thing anyway, so when you get t-boned at an intersection your treatment is free!

Dr. Banzai 08-09-10 12:04 PM

I still have to pay $82 a month for my wife and me. It's not really "free".

avner 08-09-10 12:23 PM

Go to hell Banzai, go to hell hahaha.

I ride with earbuds, sometimes both and I can't hear anything...properly will stop or get filtered out of the genetic pool.

NateRod 08-09-10 10:40 PM

No music. I listen to the streetz, cos cred.

PedallingATX 08-10-10 08:42 AM

I used to listen to music when I rode, but then I ruined my iPod shuffle from all the sweat. 4th gen shuffle SUCKS. Electro always.

And I'm working on getting something like a 176 on my LSAT...

The black eyed peas while holstering a 24 oz pbr can in my water bottle cage

Cglenny 08-10-10 12:30 PM

I don't listen to music while I'm riding, but I do a beatbox beat while I'm riding like boo chee boo chikka boo chee boo. Actually I almost do that all the time.
