I'm looking to pick up a new saddle, but i'm on a bit of a budget. Hopefully some of you can recommend something comfortable and economical at the same time. If you can post pictures too, that would be cool. Thanks.

By the way, if you live in Chicago and have one you're looking to get rid of, either PM me or email me at webs@trustkill.net.

Skitbraviking endorses english style saddles. Says they are the only thing that will come between him and his steed.

Brooks PRO fits me very, very well. Permaco.com has the best prices and their shipping is lightning fast. If you want a more durable and even harder saddle check here https://sheldonbrown.com/real-man.html

Turbo: My butt likes it for about 40 minutes. If you can find an unridden NOS one you may have more comfort, as the foam will not have broken down yet.

Rolls: Very good. Get this saddle. May require some break-in due to thick leather.

Avocet: Have had varying models, rather comfy in a cheesy mid 70's tourer kind of way.

I have one of these on my main ride:

and something very similar to this is on my beater:

neither are extremely comfortable, but they are light, stylish and a cheaper alternative to a vasectomy.

I have tried tons of saddles until i got my brooks b-17, that for me is my saddle. Supposedly they are for people who prefer an upright position, like me. If the pro is for more aero my advice is to spring for the cash and buy it. Reason being you can get 3-4 25 dollar saddles u dont like and end up spending more than one 75 dollar saddle u do. And isnt ur ass worth it?

Over the weekend I had to dump my Selle Italia Flite Trans Am. While dressing I noticed that my cycling pants were worn on either side of the seat with symmetrical marks. I took a look at my saddle at saw that it has both stitched seams and embroidery on both sides of the rear of the seat. A quick search on the internet revealed others had been experiencing abraded pants with this saddle. (Otherwise I really liked this saddle).

My advice is to select a saddle without seams or embroidery or any other clothes snagging markings on the saddle.

I saw a gold one and I think a green one as well. Next time I'm at that bike shop I'll check to see if it comes in pink. I think Schwinn originally made those saddles years ago and they were really really hard, but the new ones are made by Velo with a Schwinn cover and a little more padding. They also have reinforcements on the back corners in case you take a spill.

I have this very same saddle and I love it. It may be the only saddle I ever use. Kind of like when you finally find a barber that cuts your hair right, you never want to go to another one.

But anyway, I have a sinking feeling many people that read this won't have a problem with a saddle runing their cycling pants. I've been riding my Flite TA for about 8 months and my "cycling pants"(read: Dickies) look fine.

I guess 'Dickies' hold up fine, however Lycra does not. Shame, because I think it is a great saddle otherwise.

I'm in the market for a new saddle once again. I went with a white perforated Turbo after this thread was started but I never had time to even break it in before my bike was stolen. I didn't really have time to form much of an opinion on it.

Does anyone ride a Concor? I'd like to maybe get my hands on a white one...

I'm a Concor man for life. Rode a white Profile for 10 years until I got my neon-pink Confort/Comfort that I'm riding now.

They aren't that comfy or durable, so don't think that they are. I just really like the shape/feel.

I've ridden a Concor Super Corsa: most uncomfortable saddle known to man. Holy crap. I think it's a thin veneer of leather stretched over granite. Cold, hard, unforgiving granite. And it's mad about that time you were drunk at that party. Real mad.

The covering is secured with brass solder because glue might actually have some give to it.
