Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Because everyone loves concept bikes . . .

. . . especially when the namesake is a member of BF.

Shamelessly stolen from BSNYC

Such an ironic name for that bike.

What a horrible concept...very limited seatpost height, one chain stay that's not even on the drive side...

Yea, even Victor doesn't like the Victor Bike. Shame on them.

That thing doesn't look like it would flex or put any unnecessary strain on the rear axle/hub at all.

Looks like it's made from automobile muffler pipe or a recycled hand rail ? They could always design/add a section to weld in for an adjustable seatpost or offer varying seat post lengths ?

Even if it were a reasonably sound design, the amount of metal it saves is probably miniscule if any. The extra beef needed to stiffen that thing is probably as much as is saved in not having a seat tube or double sets of stays.

A super-elegant solution to overbuilt bike engineering.
I think it's inappropriate. Probably it is more appropriate to say, ...

A bike design that requires super-elegant engineering and overbuilding.
Kinda frightening. I am no bike mechanic, but I bent some metal bars and flexed/snapped 2X4's. I think without reinforcements, the frame's gonna flex and rear wheel will be swaying to your pedaling.

Maybe trying "lefty" design might be a better solution after all cheap motor cycles are kinda lefty. I kinda like that because when I have to remove the wheel for maintenance, I only need to loose bolts on one-side. As long as fixed axle are reliable, it saves time in maintenance. Chain should run along the "lefty"-side; or you might need to go axle-drive. Oh and you need to redesign the rear hub. ... Yeah, ... It ain't gonna be a tree hugger. All the reinforcements, you are prolly going to be using as much metal and all the metal work. ... But it's gonna be an eye candy for sure.

It's very clear that the bike was conceived by a "designer," as opposed to an engineer. pity.

I wouldn't say that. Unlike other "concept" bikes on CG/Photoshop, the designer built the thing and it works OK enough for photo shoot. I think that article introducing the frame is pitiful. The writer doesn't know enough of sciences to make due-diligence on the topic. Kinda irresponsible.
