kilo tt seatpost head slipping
the part that actually holds the saddle is slipping around in the post, is there a bolt to tighten or should i weld it until i can get a new post?

I think he means the clamp on the seatpost itself, which holds the seat to the post.
The Kilo comes stock with a cheapo two-part post. If the part that clamps to your saddle which is inserted into the post is moving around, you definitely need a new seatpost. BTW, good luck finding a good 26.8mm seatpost. |
scrod yes that is the problem, the clamp is holding the seat fine, but its moving around within the rest of the post. i think im just gonna have a friend weld it until i find a decent replacement

OP - try tightening the clamp bolt underneath the clamp tighter. I had a problem with the one that came with my Kilo WT, where it would not thread easily into the nut piece on top, and had to really tighten it very hard with a long hex wrench. The worse that can happen is that you ruin it, but it is useless anyway if it won't stay fixed.
Never mind. I now understand the problem, and I agree with Scrod that it is not fixable. |
Get a cheap 27.2mm seatpost and make a friend who is good with a lathe.
Seriously. I did this for my Peugeot. |
You'll need to find a loooooooooong hex wrench to tighten the bolt inside of the post.

Oh...my bad.
I have a straight Kalloy post and I think there's a bolt in it holding them together. |
