All city bikes?
Have any of you guys heard anything about thee frames before? I never saw them until today but the big block looks like a really nice steel frame. Any input? http://www.allcitycycles.com/bikes/big_block_frameset/
Ive seen a couple. A mechanic at the LBS had one built up as an SS.
I find it helpful sometimes searching frames ive never heard of on velospace. Idk. But yeah. Haven't really heard much about em tho. But I know ive seen quite a few. |
They are a great bike, I've ridden it, and their trick frame. AC knows how to design a great bike. Every bit is well thought out and planned to perfection.
probably getting one soon!
Look super nice, especially the new Nature Boy frameset! If only I had the $.
Cheers |
Theres one on cl in my area its the dropout complete for $700 he spent 985 on it i might buy it
i thought you wanted a moto track.. make up your mind dude. who knows if he spent 985 though? 700s no bargain..
Depending on what its built up with $700 could be a fair price. A bargain is something special, a fair price is what you should expect.
I like the screws at the track ends on the big block frame.

I dont have one but a few of my friends do, they're pretty nice bikes. I'd put the dropout in the same category as a steamroller for quality and reliability. Plus they have awesome dropouts.
Whoa, the Nature Boy is awesome.
I am a fan of those dropouts. Going on my long list of replacements for whenever I decide to ditch my conversion.

The fact that you feel the need to incessantly consult the internet for advice on what expensive bike to buy displays that you're probably not someone who is ready to be buying an expensive bike.

It'd be nice for you to take our recommendations in to some serious consideration. It seems like you are just using us weekly to consult about your bike dilemma, then a week later you ask a similar question with a completely different genre of bikes. We only have so much forbearance.
Exactly. I do understand that perhaps this is your way of doing some research but like squeegee said, your asking a bunch of questions and not listening to any of the answers. Nobody is saying you need any sort of "license" to buy a nice bike but come on, dude!
Of course im gonna consult because I never heard of the company and im not even buying it I just found one and as wondering because it looked nice.
People always giving me an attitude and talking down to me because im not completely bike savvy. Im on this fourm a few hours a day comtributing all my knowledge of what i do know when people are buying new bikes. And just to learn and be friendly with people, and I always have some ass talking down to me because they know more.

Oh and this was the last bike brand thread for me I have already placed an order for my whole new setup. But I still do like all city bikes and affinity cycles 2 brands I never knew of until a few days ago.

i rode a big block yesterday. tons of tire clearance plus tight looking angles and a really nice stiff powerful but comfy ride... it's a nice frame for sure.

about 8/10 welds. they're really, really nice. paint... well... i don't know how durable it is but if it's durable i'd give it a 9/10, the red with white is just fantastic. looks so good.
i'm a harsh critic too, my kilo's welds would be about 4/10 and stock paint was 2/10. |
