Installing front brake with Crosstop lever

I'm attempting to install a front brake on the fixie. Got a Sora caliper and Cane Creek Crosstop lever. Confused as to which way the cable routes through the lever! Forums say either works - push or pull will activate the caliper. Hmm . . . They're mainly referring to road bikes with existing brake levers, but this will be the only one. Any tips?

The housing sits inside of the adjuster barrel of the lever, the cable end with the little spherical object sits inside the recessed area on the other side of the adjuster barrel.

@Dr. Banzai, Yep. I had that one last year. Going for something a little more . . . traditional.
