Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? San Francisco roll call!

I have a feeling there's a bunch of SF people trolling around here...

Who's in the bay area? Let's go on a ride some time!

I just moved to the Mission from Oakland a month ago. I'm always down to go on a ride. I was planning on riding in Critical Mass tomorrow night, but I might have to miss it because of work.

I know at least 3 of us here are SF, Harryhood, SillyGirl and myself, we love to go on rides. Near and far.

Another fixie here in SF.

BTW saw a fixie 'mass' at the Valencia street fair last Sunday. About 20-30 mainly brakeless fixies were riding in a big bunch. Anyone know anything about it?

I tried going down there with some friends and the guy never showed up, we emailed and setup it up with him and the dude bailed. So instead we rode down on the the bike path to the model airplane strip it was alright, but better than driving 1-1/2 for nothing. But i still want to go sometime, maybe not this weekend, going to see the pixies.

Speaking of which i have 2 tix, (100bucks) just want my cash back, if any one wants em. Saturday show at Greek Theatre!

Not s/s, but I hit Tamarancho and China Camp with some regularity, and am always looking for ride partners. I'm intermediate, and typically ride the 'Rancho loop in about 2.5 hours from downtown Fairfax.

Leave me a private message if interested...

I shouldn't have actually proposed a ride seeing as how I have a broken wrist and my wheels aren't built up yet haha.. well.. give me a month or so and I'll be coming back strong. I'll be sure to pick up on this thread again.

oh yeah, SF is where it's at. riding brakeless here is like driving stick here. if you can do it in SF, you can do it A N Y W H E R E!!!

unaesthetic, i saw you once at Dolores Park. you pulled up to the playground while this punk band was trying to set up their gear. definitely noticed your bling bling wheels (RIP).

i live near d. park and ride on an orange KHS. get your wheels going and i'll see you on the street.

i'd be down for an organized ride too some time.... straight to zg.

ah.. awesome.. small world. yeah i remember that day, it was like juuuust after i got done building those wheels. i had a good week of riding those before they got ripped off. i see a few orange khs' around.. one every day outside herbivore. how'd you know it was me?

and yeah, once i get these wheels built (and uh.. have wrist surgery) - we'll have to roll down to zg for a few beers!

in berkeley.

i mostly ride my track for going to and from work, and errands.

for fun long rides though, i mostly ride my road bike. because i like to go up the hills and be all like ZOOOM!!!!!! and ****. i just replaced the chain on my roadie...my, what a difference a chain makes!

i'd be down to meet up for a long road ride...mt. tam, mt. diablo, somewhere else....

come to think of it, i'd also be down for a fixed ride...but only if there's a specific destination in mind. christ, it'd just be nice to meet some other bike nerds here.

I used to live in Duboce Triangle, now I'm in San Bruno. I just rode around downtown, the embarcadero, and marina again last week and what fun it was. I'd forgotten what a blast it is. I don't have my fixie anymore though but now that I've sold my mountain bike... Where's Lucklust? I rode with him a while back. Too bad I'm busy tomorrow night, I'd love to ride CM again.

F Line takes me right into SF, but I'd be up for some fixed riding with other Berkeley folks.

I was thinking about it, it's the first CM since I've lived in SF. But I have to work until 5 and I need to do laundry.

Sorry unaesthetic, no extra wheels here.
