Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Can i get some opinions on the bike as well as the pricing? Trying to decide if i should go used for something like this around $300 or new bike from bikesdirect.

Was thinking of getting a WT model, not sure if this can accommodate wide tires, but that is not a deal breaker. Just want the best bike for my budget.

Does that Langster have a freewheel and only a front brake? And a headset cap that says "if it ain't fixed it's broken"? I think it's broken. Don't buy it.

What's with the attitude?
The margin of error on measuring myself is greater than the difference between frame sizes... I know I'm around a 53-56 cm based on my height... I think it's better to just try different frames in person rather than pick a frame based on a chart of measurements... This doesn't even account for personal preference such as some people preferring smaller bikes, etc.

All of the measurements are described in great detail with a video, and the results it gives you when given quality numbers are pretty damn close to whatever you need.

I found these Leader frames for $199.. but they're cosmetically damaged and don't come with warranty... They're off the ebay coghouse page so I think they're legit..
Are they a risky buy? Was leaning towards the gloss white 735

They have the 735 for $199, 725 for $149 and 721 for $99... is the 721 decent enough that the extra $100 is better spent on components? or should i stick with the 735 or 725?

edit: don't see any difference between the 725 and 735 on the leader website, while the 721's welds aren't as good.. hmmmm

2nd edit: 725 is $199 except for 48 cm which is $149

Those Leader prices aren't all BIN, a lot of the lower prices are just plain old auction.

Would be a great deal if no one else bids.

Smooth no, strong probably yes. Or they wouldn't sell the thing.

I believe the 721 and 725 have the same welds, just they're smoothed out on the 725. Structurally they're supposedly the same. The only other difference is the seat tube is "aero" on the 725 and round on the 721.

My friend's selling this for $600:

Kilo TT custom paint job, frame/fork and Ritchey h.s.
SRAM Omnium w/ BB and SRAM chainring
Thomson Elite seatpost and San Marco Concor saddle
Velocity DV laced to Dura Ace 7600 hubs
DID chain

I'm thinking of getting it to flip it, yes/no?

I can't imagine making too much of a profit by flipping a $600 Kilo.

edit- Unless you're thinking of keeping the components and selling the frame, in which case it might be worth it.

Flip it or don't, it's still a pretty good deal.

DA 7600 hubs, thomson post, concor, omniums, all of that alone will run you around $600 or more used. A complete Kilo with those parts is a nice deal.
