Is this legit?
So I was browsing fleabay and came across this and was wondering if its legit.
Also, the listing says
"DUE TO SMALL FACTORY ERROR IN BRAKE BRIDGE I CAN SELL A LIMITED NUMBER AT THIS INSANE PRICE!
THE FACTORY MADE SOME SMALL ERROR ON MOUNTING VENT HOLE ON REAR BRAKE BRIDGE FACING UP; AND A BIT OF ROUGH WELDS ON BRAKE BRIDGE. THIS IS TOTALLY NON-STRUCTURAL -- JUST NOT AS NICE LOOKING AS NORMAL"
Is this a serious problem? or no
Check it out!

I think I recognize that crank/chainring monstrosity from the older hi-ten dawes - its pretty awful.
I guess it's pretty hard to pick at for $150. At that price point your only real competitor is the walmart fixie, and it's nicer than that.
That being said, if your serious *at all* about riding, your a lot better off with the Fuji Feather deal, or any bikesdirect bike. That's generally the "cheap" category, and this would be "sub-cheap."
I hope your not excited because of his line about it being a $600+ bike. I see foresee this sitting next to the SE Draft for under $200 at the most expensive LBS.

I think I'ma buy me one, looks like a GREAT deal. Just because the brake arch seems to be welded up side down? What the heck do I care?

I thought chicabike is basically Mike's(BD owner) wife? It should be legit.

I'd buy this if A) I needed a beater bike and B) I had room for another bike.

suggesting this to a friend who has had trouble finding a 47CM fixie. At this price you could upgrade crappy parts to decent ones...and if you decide you want a better frame youre still not out much.

Thanks for all the replies everyone!
Yeah I was looking at this bike to beat around campus on since i dont want to ride my racing bike around. I was just wondering if the mistake/defect or whatever is safe enough that i wont have to spare a collarbone.

I just bought one of these bikes and I am very pleased. The picture that she has posted of the defect must have been of the worst one she has because mine just has a slightly wider weld in that area and no hole. I just got the bike today so my experience is limited (about 20 miles so far) but it feels very solid so far. My only complaint is that the dawes logo on the head tube is painted on so I can't just peel it off.

Looks pretty similar to my Windsor Clockwork. If I didn't already have 5 bikes I'd be all over this.
