Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Temple Linguistics here. I ride in from Frankford every morning. Look for a black Affinity Lo-Pro with a yellow Kashimax saddle (or in the near future when my brakes get shipped, a pink Shogun 12 speed).

I am a student at Temple, Tyler to be exact.

Art Education, rarely on campus though, doing student teaching in kensington.

Where do I ride around the city? If I need produce, Iovine brothers or the underground market in chinatown.

On weekends I have been trying to bike past manyunk roxborough, got as far as valley forge, but those hills really wear me out.

Setup? A singlespeed slate grey kilo tt pro(very stock).

I am a Tyler Alumnus from the days before the move to the Main Campus. We rode around our neighborhoods- Ogontz, the Optometry School area, West Oak Lane and the Cheltenham and Elkins/Melrose Park areas. We even rode up to Willow Grove and Jenkintown! But that was over twenty years ago, so I wouldn't suggest anything now for lack of current info...
Hey, has anyone seen a red Raleigh Record Commuting bike that had a Nine speed (Sturmey Archer with three speed cog) transmission? Mine was stolen near West Oak Lane in 1984; I am still trying to recover it!!
