Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

retiring as a messenger

ok, so this is it. I lasted little over two years.

I sold my messenger Soma, and built up a nice 'retirement' fixie, Sannino pursuit frame, full old campy record on fir tubulars (pics to follow sometime this weekend)

It's been exciting, fun, terrifying, humiliating etc.

Starting next monday, I am a bstard dispatcher

This is B, giving my final signoff, legs are up.

Considering the congugal tone of the "Polish" thread about 165 and MKRG, you may want to watch your sentences. You might be suggesting things other than what you mean.

YES!
I plan on returning to the velo this next season (our local velo was just repaved). I have raced a few times at the Olympic Velo in Colorado. Now that's a VELODROME...ah, now I need another bike. Right? RIGHT?

Is he really an ENGLISH teacher? I mean, sometimes he sounds like a shop teacher. Congratulations Bikkhu.

You know what they say; Those who can't do, teach.

Congrats Bikkhu -- Here's wishing you the best of luck at the 'drome

Or rather it's because I am too busy to worry about silly typing because as a teacher I HAVE WORK to do while you lazy office slugs sip coffee and read the internet all day.

Nothing wrong with dispatchers. I still kick it with my old dispatcher, probably because our company was so small he had to ride too.

Thanks everyone... I am mildly worried that I might get fat and start watching ice hockey on telly... fortunately my 8 mile commuting round trip involves steep grade ascents and mildly terrifying downhills

Look, I am probably the only finn who really does not have a faintest clue what's going on in the ice hockey... or cross country skiing for that matter

You are not retired til you leave completely. Being a dispatcher means you won't ride every day but when they need you have the bike on standby at the job just in case.

If you get a messenger that don't want to take a late job , send him/her home .
Make the money for yourself.

S/F,
CEYA!
