Eddy Merckx

I'm converting my 20 year old 10-speed Eddy Merckx to a fixed gear. After removing the shift levers from the down tube I am left with the assembly (where the levers are screwed) sticking out of the tube. It is pretty ugly. Any recommendations for plugging up these?

From: Stumptown, OR .... er Southern California

Bikes: Lugged steel

Leave the shifters on, or file off the mounts, or put STI cable stops on them, or mount matching japanese bicycle bells....

The possibilities are endless.

Get a guy with a welder to plug up the holes and paint over.
