any of you guys reach maximum velocity on your bikes?

but seriously im curious as to whats teh fastest you've gone on your bike.

p.s. im probably not going to get many responses as none of you guys probably have computers on your tarck bikes.

Terminal velocity for a human is 117-125 mph.

maximum velocity, well I dont even know what that is. This question is about as useful as doing wheelies on a cinelli.



But going downhill and such Id say ive gotten up to around 30 here. High cadences are tough to keep up with.

Not measured by a computer, but by one of those roadside speed things I hit 28 MPH.

I don't know how accurate those things are, but I wanna go by it again and see how I'll do with my new gearing.

yeah they use to have one of those on my street, but then they took it down before i had a chance to ride past it and test mah speedz

Actually, this is one reason why i want to have a computer on my track bike. I commute all the time, and there are many of those "mash it" spots where you can go all out with no worries.
I would guess around 30mph

34.2 I think was my fastest and that is 160+rpm.

Well I've hit 50mph on my road bike on some descents, thats fun. That last time I had a computer on my fixed gear I could hit 30 on the flats, but this bike isn't one I use for high speed. Anyway, I'm not in racing shape anymore...

I would not trust my road bike a 50 MPH... one turn and my fork would snap.

around 35mph on a downhill, with aero bars in aero position. brakeless. scary stuff.

Yeah. I stopped with the road racing and I don't have a track bike. I don't have much interest in starting up again right now, I'm happy to keep competition out of cycling for now

41MPH at the velodrome. Maybe a bit more. I've had faster days but didn't have my speedo equipped on the bike.

I hit 64.2kph today with 81 gear inches. A little bouncy.

i think 29-30 on flat ground, 49x17 ratio. need to work on smoothing out my cadence

32mph with a 48x16 gear. I now run a 52x18 ratio so a little slower now.

hit 38 yesterday on my track bike, hit 60 on my roadbike on a dirt downhill at battenkill

31.4mph with a bit of downhill assistance.

On my SS I totally spun out 2 different times, once at 39.7mph and another time at 39.8mph (bike computer readings), going down a fairly steep hill on a freshly paved bike path. I was in the drops with my head down (eyes up). I'm running 46x16.

the fastest that I've gotten on my touring bike was 37 and change according to my comp, Fixed I don't have a computer but I'd guestimate at low 30s

i hit 54 mph on the goldsprints at a bar...fastest time in the bar...holla...only time i've ever had speed recorded
