Bored...
So, I've been waiting for almost three weeks for my new fork to show up at Performance (woodgrain Lager), and I haven't ridden since my accident (9/21) and I'm bored as all get out. I miss my bike. What are some good exercises to keep my leg strength and all that up while I'm out of the saddle? Reading the forums and urbanvelo and Bicycling magazine just aren't cutting the cravings anymore. FYI: they can't be too demanding of the upper body at the moment. my Shoulder is still super sore, and cracked ribs are a bizznitch.

Oh! Go buy a loaner cheapo fork until your new one gets here, then again you can't really ride it with your shoulders all wonky. One month is quite a bit of time to stay off the bike...
I remember one of our members said lifting your leg straight out and holding it there while you're on a chair is a good work out.

i was thinking about the loaner fork, but performance wont release the bike until its fixed. something about safety issues and how they'd be liable if something happened to me if the bike failed if i was riding before they called it safe. so, i was thinking about going on craigslist and buying something cheap just to get me by... even if its just something to wrench on it would be ok. oooo.... maybe i can get a frame for the wife and start building. if you build it they will ride right?
im gonna go work out my legs right now!

I grew up in one. I know the feeling.
performance finally called. Bike is ready. However, the wife says we can't afford it until my next payday. Totally lame.

Damn...I was digging through the spindles bin too, all of them were too long for my needs though. Oh yea, I actually did get a headset from them.

its complete as I can afford at the moment.
to clarify, it is rideable and complete, but hellishly ugly. red cranks for the loss.
Yeah I was so lucky, I found the only 103mm spindle. Huzzah.
Now I just need to move out of burnaby and my life will be complete.
and I also need to get in shape. I am fat as **** right now.

As much as I hate to admit it, I work at Performance Bike. I know for a fact that if a customer came in wanting their bike back right then, we would give it back in whatever condition it was in. This is all due to the 100% Satisfaction Guarantee that Performance offers.
If you want your bike right now, you can get it. Just saying.

and they want $90 for a fork, install, and truing a rim. Pretty reasonable price. It's just that work has been slow and most of our friends and family have had birthdays in the past 2 weeks. And holidays are coming and blah blah typical wife crap. This weekend I'll be back in the saddle with any luck.
