Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Bikes: Chromoly Allez comp with Ultegra/DA, IRO Rob Roy

2 days and I'm an addict

INKDWHEELS brought my bike to work on Friday afternoon and I hopped on the bus to head downtown. The second I crossed the mountains, it starts pouring. It hardy stops raining all night, but I just met up and rode with him anyways. Broke a chain, listened to some ying yang twins while fixing it, got some coffee, nearly ate it trying to skid.It was a good first time on a fixed.
Spent all of today riding in beautiful weather, getting a knack for toe clips and traffic, nearly got side-swiped by a bus(hit a parked car instead). Popped my rear tire of of the dropout while crushing my pedals somehow and flatted a tire. But I love it all anyways....

Hey on that flat, its a 27 inch, can I use a 700 tube to replace it? Rookie question I know.

I was so proud. He didn't eat it once the whole night, even throughout the rain. I give him 3 days before he's figuring out what bike parts he can afford with his next paycheck. Welcome to the club, Rancid.

Bikes: Crust Romanceur, VO Polyvalent, Surly Steamroller, others?

Yeah, a 700c tube will fit, they are interchangable. I have 27" wheels and the package I have reads "700 x 28/32c 27 x 1,1/8 - 1,1/4"

Please! No pictures! Remember these cats are in sunny Hawaii while the rest of us ninnies are facing a cold winter ahead. I still can't figure out why I'm still in the midwest...I'm seriously at a loss here.
