Oh, I didn't know that you were talking specifically about the cracked frame. Yea, I can't imagine welding a crack in aluminum would be very strong at all. The wall thickness of the tube is too thin, and all you would be doing would be filling the crack with filler rod.

yeah, chainstay right next to the rear drop out. Ugly arse lookin weld too.

Ah. It seems like that area could be repaired if you really wanted to, but it'd be an ugly repair even with a skilled welder (not the same as an ugly weld). Then again, it's an area of concentrated stress... I wouldn't trust my life to it.

that's how I felt. Which is why I don't have the frame. Despite the painful whole in my life that exists without a triple triangle.
