Any Dawes pics?

so i discovered the frame i bought from a friend is a Dawes. i looked is up and it appears to be this weird little brand mostly sold on Ebay. fortunatly i only paid 30 bucks for it. i was just curious if anyone had experience with this bike or even pics with what they've as far as building it. i'll post a pic of mine as soon as i get some.

Back in the day Dawes used to make some pretty good bikes.

yeah, the new dawes has nothing to do with the old dawes. bikes direct buys up the licensing to several brands that don't distribute in the us anymore and then makes bikes with those names on them.

you give us no information to determine what your bike actually is. if it's a lightning 1000, prepare for the lulz.

that's because to be honest i have no idea what it is. it's completely black, he took every decal and label off it. he bought it very early this year and it does have track dropouts. the components are crap. and for all i know the frame might be crap to. but as i said, paid very little for it.

Unless your friend welded on a track end, you might have something special there. Is it lugged?

edit: he bought it early this year... new or used? I am confused whether you have the old Dawes, or the new BD Dawes.

I had the nicest dawes galaxy touring bike.
this frame if it has nothing on it will serve its purpose.

^this.

pretty much any dawes that doesn't have lugs is just bargain mass produced monkey in a barrel welded by five year old taiwanese baloney. for 30 bucks, you got a great deal. it's not worth 100 though.
