Frame suggestions
Any suggestions for a clean no sticker solid track frame? Are there any builders out there you would recommend?
|
What is your price range?
Off the top of my head, the Eighth Inch Scrambler and the Leader 722TS are two lower priced options. I don't know if you're looking for something nicer, but the Leader is pretty nice. |
kilo tt im pretty sure has a no decal version

I just dropped about 300.00 on one of these but, they start at around 249.00. I'm really impressed with the quality. I had been planning on getting a Felt.

Pake has their stickers over the clear coat, so they come off very easy.

Kayce...thanks for the input. I like the Pake. good call with the sticker removal. I didn't know they were over the clear coat.

This is a Pake frame unbranded for $128 shipped. http://www.crosslakesales.com/p-1325...omoly-new.aspx |
what do you like in terms of feel/features from a frame?
how much do you have to spend? are there any other aesthetic features you want from the frame? there are lots of stickerless track frames, all the above are fine. plus kilo tt strippers on bikeisland, which i've loved since 2007. it all depends what you want out of it. if you want a bar bike a scrambler is a good option, if you want something cheap, it doesn't really matter and that mission valencia is probably great for you, or the pake. if you want something stiff you can probably do better with a kilo or spending a little more. you say 'you were just going to get a felt' and that makes me think you may not know what you're getting yourself into in assembling a bike from a frameset. you'll spend somewhere between 300 and 500 dollars just getting it rolling depending on what you have available to you. unless you were talking about the dispatch frameset... in which case, i have to say all of these bikes are very very distinct from that type of felt. they're generally identical to a brougham. if i were you i'd get a tk3 and forget the frameset. that bike is amazing for the money. but you have to give us more information otherwise you may as well just read the stickies. in fact, you should probably have done that before making this thread anyway. youz trollin. otherwise i'm just going to tell you to get an EAI Godzilla. |
I know, I'm late. Leader 722TS ftw.
|
I'm just going to +1 Scrod's comment.
|
i'd just go w/ a kilo stripper
|
722ts is better than a kilo but not by much. it's also more expensive but not by much. i'd still rather have the 1 1/8 steerer.

AND 27.2 seatpost.

I think the leader is a much better built frame than the scrambler. I had a scrambler and after riding it for a while the tracking not great at all.
i guess that said, I have never owned a leader but it would be better. |
I'm not knocking a Kilo but as someone who has owned both a Kilo and a Leader, I prefer my 722 tenfold.
