Powder Coating Wheels

I am having my new rims powder coated to match the frame and need some advice. Should I have the whole rim powder coated or leave the brake surface un-coated? I paln on having fron and rear brakes.

Sell them and buy the ones you really want.

Taking apart the wheels, powder coat the rims for ~$100 and re-lace every thing seems hardly worth it when you can buy a new set for ~$140.

The wheels are not put together yet. It is just the rims.

Pardon me for my obvious ignorance but why didn't you just buy the right color rims to begin with?

Couldn't get that color. You all are missing the point of the question. Can you ride the brakes over the powder coating?

Sure, but the powder coating will wear off and leave you with ugly rims.

You're not getting the point.

He wants to ask if spicy mustard goes well with the roast beef sandwich he's making and if it does, should he eat some chocolate almonds?

Powder coating CAR rims is dangerous, Search Gram lights powder coating cracking.

The ****tier the aluminum the better it conforms to heat.

The better the aluminum alloy. The worst it conforms to heat. Try powdercoating Campy lips.

If you have the option, definitely no powder coating on the braking surface...although from what I gather, don't you have to get the whole rim powder coated, and then machine the sidewalls?
