I'm running a set of Howitzer Truvativ cranks. The only drawback I've experienced with these is the spindle diameter is proprietary and not compatible with X-Pipe and others.
They are still economical in the event of a bearing replacement kit. ~$40. Plus they are easy to work on and replace.

How would it not be true?
And Vixtor rides a conversion, and purchases from Bike Co-Ops, I'm far to elitist. Considering I have track racer wattage outputs I think only the Omniums will be stiff enough to handle my daily commute. I'm actually really considering it. When I have the money to purchase a BB I may install them, however If I get a purchase offer i'll probably sell the 75's and buy Omniums.

how about road cranks with a single chainring, conversion style, i'm putting together a new project and thinking that a carbon UT campy crankset is just the ticket, if i can find a nice used one.

I lve them as far as stiffness goes standard sg75s don't do it for me not to mention the price of them now is crazy. For practically the same price as 75's you can have much stiffer omniums hence I have 2 sets 1 black and 1 silver

if that was for me, I'll have you know that when I was in the market I didn't realize the omniums came in black, and I felt that I didn't need to spend an extra $50 on a crank that I am not really going to be able to tell the difference. Although, if I stumble upon a set I might end up swapping it. (Matter of fact, one of the mechanics at my LBS was selling a set, and we were going to make a trade, but it fell through...either way I am loving the S300's just fine)

the bb supplied with the s300 cranks was junk. I got maybe a thousand miles out of it. Cranks were good though. The weight difference between the s300 and similarly priced "track" cranks was nice. Use 75s now, I don't understand how they could too flexible for someone's commute.
