Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

What if you end up wanting a brake? They'll be nothing to guide the cable!

Full-length housing with metal clips or zip ties to attach it to the frame.

Gotcha 1nput. But I feel as though that would defeat the OP's original intention of making the frame look slick. I dunno.

Bikes: too many

there is not a single point in time ever where i've looked at a conversion and though "wow, I almost thought that was the cleanest track bike ever, but those huge braze ons threw me off"

but i have looked at conversions with unbelievable effort put into grinding off braze ons and derraileur hangers and repainting and thought "stupid ****ing hipster should have just bought a windsor hour. what a stupid bike"

I didn't say that it would look good. I merely explained how it would be possible to mount cables without cable stops. I agree with you on zip ties, but I don't think the chrome clips are so bad.

And the brakes might feel slightly "spongier" because there is more cable housing crush.
