Swapping Crankset
I am currently building a new single speed bicycle and want to swap out the crankset for asthetic puposes(the one currently on the bike has an ugly ring around the chainrings). Ive been browsing around ebay looking at cranksets and noticing they are not that expensive. Could someone tell me if there are other parts I am going to have to buy besides the arms and chainring? I was also wondering the complexity of the task. Please respond with any tips or though on the matter.
Thanks

Frame building.
Normally they usually cost $20-40 and goes up from there if you want quality ones. Labour is probably ~$10-20, varies from shop to shop.

is the existing crankset square taper? ISIS? external bearing? how long is the existing bottom bracket spindle? english or italian threading? crank arm length? you could need any number of parts / tools...
sounds to me like you should be heading to your local shop...that is, unless you have a big ass hammer and know how to use it.
