you know i think if more people googled the subject before posting a thread on it they'd A: find the answer right there or B: find there was already a thread existing on the subject

Those Google results suck.

Are you looking for something you can submerge?

I use the holder from Chrome. It's black and inconspicuous. Ive used it in rain and snow. It's on my bag strap, so pretty well protected but it's also fully tarp lined.

Thank you guys for all your help! I know how to use google. Those holsters, that are suggested by Scrod's google search, can not be attached to the backpack strap. In fact those are not holsters. Those are just sealed pvc bags.
What I was looking for is something like this: http://www.chromebagsstore.com/bags/...ory-pouch.html
Unfortunately this chrome's holster is the only thing I was able to find, and I was hoping maybe someone here knows the alternatives.

Yep, I ended up buying this thing from Chrome too. The only problem I have with it is, that velcro closure is not very secure.

i have the timbuk2 two way and while it's not very waterproof(wouldn't put it face down in a puddle), it did keep a set of business cards relatively dry in a rainstorm so i'm pretty happy with it.

in general i have a ton of **** on my straps but they are still super comfy and i like having a crazy ass blinkie on my shoulder that makes me look like a predator with a lazer or a program in a grid game in tron.

the cell phone holder is right by my ear so i can bump tunes with my stupid ****ty phone speaker and still hear them.

timbuk's holster seems to be better then chrome's one but even the large version of it is too small for my htc. it does not close:(

sealline makes little zip/velcro pouches that attach to bags with a loop. they are rated as 'splash proof' on their website but I have been through many downpours without having any water leakage in mine (I have the zipper one)

Anyone make their own? I was thinking of making one out of duct tape and old tubes. I'm just curious of there any designs available for me to try before making my own.

If you find anything let me know. Thats a totally awesome idea, and I really would like to have access to my phone while riding.

I was actually thinking about making my own. Ideally it would be nice to make small roll top pouch made of the same material as chrome bags. But for now I just modified chrome's pouch: I added the q-r buckle instead of velcro

Bat56 12-20-10 09:50 PM

The chrome velcro is pretty shwag, but it holds my iPhone. The flap has never opened, and it it did I don think my phone could fall out on it's own.

thanks man. Asking questions senslessly on forums and having smeone offer me a link to a site that googles my question for me is much easier then typing that question into google myself.

The Chrome cell holster doesn't fit an iPhone, but the Chrome accessory pouch does. I learned the hard way and ended up buying one of each.

You don't want duct tape. Sure it would work OK for a short time, but after a little bit, the adhesive will start to come off in bad ways and cause a gooey mess (especially when it is hot outside). Would be better to glue and stitch the seams.

Yes. Of course. I have the accessory pouch, and my comments have been about the pouch, not the cell phone holster.

I don't know, man...I once made a wallet using only duct tape and used the thing for nearly 3 years. Adhesive coming off was never a problem.
