Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? I request your extensive, collective knowledge.

I have (as I've mentioned before) a steel GT pursuit frame that takes a 24" front wheel and a 700c back. I have yet to fully build it up (waiting on rims). I am considering going tubular for this bike, considering the availability of tubular 24" tires in the colors that I want (not to mention the *ahem* cool factor *ahem* I mean comfortability, rolling resistance and corner handling). My problem is, I can't seem to find any 24" tubular rims.

It seems as though these are primarily used only on track bikes, if at all (inasfar as I've only seen them on eBay for "track" use).

Anyone want to weigh in on what I might want to search for? Anyone have any 24" rims in black?

24" ?

Sweet Jebus! Are you sure?

I ride a pursuit frame, and 650c ( 26" ) tubulars are hard enough to come by...
I suggest checking out your nearest TUFO dealer, altough I'v never even heard of 24" tubes...

(edited for stupidity)

rims... errr...

Actually, tubs in 24" are relatively easy to find (In comparison to clincher tires). Tufo makes one, and panaracer makes one. Andrew Muzi at yellowjersey.org has a few of them. The problem is rims.

Apparently, panaracer makes a 24" clincher tire, and I have a velocity aerohead on order, but I'm getting sick of waiting. I FORGOT to bid on an ebay auction for a 24" front wheel for flipping $21USD.

Needless to say, I'm quite angry at myself.
